Can I bring a friend?

Yes, you totally can! Fun multiplies when shared, and it is great to experience the UpDate event together Just be aware that our events are aimed to have you meet many new people in many ways, so we recommend to give each other some space (just like in a romantic relationship) and save some of the best gossips for later (:

Suppose an UpDate evening results in a relationship that leads to the organic creation of new humans (babies). Is there a legal obligation to name these after one of the founders?

Technically, no, however, we do recommend this for seven generations of good luck and the blessings of our ancestors in all your future games.

I am in a relationship, but UpDate looks like a lot of fun! Can I still join?

Most of our events are aimed to save people from the superficiality of dating apps and the boredom of normal speed dates. We’d like to stick to this mission and therefore refer you to our UpDate social nights. These are aimed at meeting new people in a fun way, without the dating element. Tip: these events are a lot of fun to do as a date night with your partner! Keep an eye on our calendar or enroll in our newsletter to catch them when they are announced!

I’d love to have an UpDate event for people who share my hobby/ interest in XYZ. In this way, I know we have at least one thing in common. Is this possible?

Absolutely! We have done UpDate events in the past for climbers & outdoor people and would love to host such events more often. We are considering, runners, dancers, single parents, and travel lovers, and are also open to suggestions. So if you are a part of a community and like to make this happen, please reach out to us!

Are there also UpDate events for the LGBTQ community?

Yes, we have done them in the past and plan to do them again in the future! Keep an eye on our event calendar or enroll in our newsletter to stay up-to-date!

Will there be pictures taken?

Yes, we take pictures, so if you want to have a memory, follow our socials, spot, and tag yourself! If you don’t want to be on a picture, please approach our hosts at the event.

I would love to become a host and/or have UpDate in my city. What do I do?

Awesome! We are always looking to expand our team and move into new cities! Please send an email with a short motivation to fun@update-events.nl and we will take it from there 🙂

My question isn’t in the FAQ. What do I do?

In situations like this, it is important to stay calm and not to panic. It can help a lot to take a deep breath, light some incense, and make a cup of tea (personally, we often rely on rooibos in times of crisis). After you have recovered from the biggest shock, you can send your question to fun@update-events.nl and the house elf on duty will respond to it ASAP.
